This blog shows how the Trostrey Excavation Group go about the task of investigating a site of archaeological interest.
At this point I will not be revealing its precise location just in case it turns out to be very important. All I will say is that it is somewhere in Monmouthshire.
On the face of it, it is a very interesting site and in time it could give the group years of excavation especially as the land owner is very keen for us to dig. Or, after a brief investigation, we may decide that there is nothing there.
Our first indication that we had a dig for 2013 was an email I received on 4 August. The following post starts the story from that day.
